(Lead) Platform Engineer (Kubernetes)

One of our clients in the Banking industry is looking for Platform Engineers to join the team of talented professionals responsible for building and keeping company Kubernetes clusters operational and healthy. You’ll also have a key role in the development of the company’s Container Platform and migration of Kubernetes clusters from on-prem to the cloud.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, configure and maintain team core on-prem and cloud infrastructure
• Deploy, operate and upgrade Kubernetes clusters for the team and its customers
• Be responsible for observability of the platform infrastructure
• Engage with our internal customers, help to onboard them onto our container platform and resolve their issues
• Co-operate with Bison Developer Experience team to help building company Internal Development Platform
• Automate all things that are possible and reasonable to automate with Terraform
• Be the expert for CTO stakeholders and fellow CTO org teams on underlying cloud-native container infrastructure and tools

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering
• 4+ years of working experience with Kubernetes
• Hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes day 2 tools and Kubernetes troubleshooting techniques
• Hands-on knowledge of containerized application deployment methods (k8s manifests, kustomize, helm)
• Hands-on knowledge of at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc)
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Linux platform and shell scripting
• Hands-on knowledge of IaC and related infrastructure deployment tools (Ansible, Terraform, Crossplane)

The following will be an added advantage/beneficial:

• CKA/CKAD certification or similar level of knowledge
• Knowledge of microservice architecture, experience with application containerization and deployment to container platforms
• Experience in deploying and managing observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Jaeger, OpenTelemetry)
• A deep understanding of modern operational and application delivery tools and methodologies inside of production deployment workflows, CI/CD and GitOps tools (Jenkins, Tekton, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, ArgoCD, Flux, Rancher Fleet)
• Understanding and experience in applying software security analysis and testing methodologies (SAST, DAST) and cloud native security techniques and tools (CWP, CSPM, CASB)
• Programming skills in Python, Java, .NET, Golang or relevant
