JOB SUMMARY:
My client is recruiting a Lifting Machine Inspector to join their dynamic team. The purpose of the job is to load test and certification material handling equipment on company and customer premises in a timely and cost-effective manner so that customer and company requirements are met.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Minimum requirements:

Matric or equivalent qualification.
Trade test certification (Mechanic or Auto Electrician).
Qualified Diesel or Petrol Mechanic (experience with a forklift or earthmoving equipment), qualified Forklift Mechanic; or qualified Auto Electrician (mechanical experience).
Qualified forklift technician (min 5 years experience in earthmoving equipment), or qualified Forklift Mechanic.
General working knowledge of the auto electrical systems (ignition, starting, charging, illumination).
Must be willing to travel to remote areas
Code 8 driver’s license.

Duties and responsibilities:

Perform accurate diagnosis/troubleshooting in event of a breakdown of equipment.
Communicate what repairs are needed by advising the customer and/or supervisor.
Maintains vehicle maintenance and operational data/history by updating and timeously communicating information that must go on record.
Provide complete customer satisfaction in a polite and professional manner.
Ensure proper communication between self, and workshop staff (supervisor and controller).
Ensure OHSACT requirements are met in all actions on company premises.
Maintains a safe work environment by verifying vehicle safety device operations, following standards and procedures, and in general, complying with legal regulations.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
