Live-In Superintendent (House Mother) – Student Accommodation (Northern Suburbs, Cape Town)
Introduction:
Our client provides private student accommodation in Cape Town’s northern suburbs. They currently operate a 48-bed hostel and will open a 27-bed female-only hostel in June 2025. Both hostels offer modern amenities, live-in superintendents, and daily shuttles to nearby Eduvos and Stadio campuses.
About the Role:
The live-in superintendent will oversee the daily running of the 27-bed residence, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for female students. This is a full-time, live-in position ideal for someone nurturing, organized, and hands-on.
POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities (Summary):
- Manage day-to-day operations, cleanliness, and maintenance of the residence.
- Provide first-line support to students, promote a positive community, and enforce house rules.
- Supervise cleaning staff and assist with scheduling and supply needs.
- Handle room check-ins/outs, keep basic records, and report maintenance issues.
- Drive students to and from campus using the hostel shuttle (PDP license required).
- Be available after hours for emergencies and maintain ongoing communication with management.
Requirements:- Experience in property, hospitality, or student residence management is an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Must live on-site and hold a valid PDP license.
- South African ID or valid work permit required.
- Police clearance and medical check may be requested.
