JOB SUMMARY:
Are you an experienced Logistics Co-ordinator with minimum three years’ experience in logistics and transport with strong administration and SAP experience?

Our client requires your expertise within a construction management or logistics function that has led to performance improvement. 
We require an individual who can get the best out of their team, engage with excellent communication skills and who has a successful track record in dealing with complex issues and knows how to drive performance!

JOB DESCRIPTION:

REQUIREMENTS

  • Qualified Artisan & Technical or logistics Diploma or Degree
  • SA driving license and SMSTS / SSSTS
  • Recognised safety programme, First Aid & Lifting Supervisor Certification
  • A suitable qualification in traffic management & Institutional membership
  • 3 years in logistics/transport with a strong admin & 2 yrs SAP experience
  • IT skills (e.g., PowerPoint, Visio, Word, Excel)
  • 3 years exp of delivery within a construction management or logistics function that has led to performance improvement
  • Promoting a sustainable approach to logistic procurement and supply chain
  • Excellent communication skills to support, engage with individuals at all levels
  • Dealing with complex issues - a driver of performance improvement
  • An inspirational manager that can get the best out of individuals and teams
  • Build consensus, work in a matrix structure, deliver performance and outcomes, and drive the professional and personal development of team members
  • Manage suppliers: scaffolding, temp electrics, plumbing, welfare etc.

DUTIES

  • Responsible for all aspects of site logistics including stores management, development of site logistics solutions for each project at the harbour
  • Actively involved and spending a significant amount of time on the construction site actively managing resources
  • Manage the movement of people including timesheets where appropriate, goods and equipment at the construction and control site
  • Engaging with project planner, the commercial and financial teams, technical lead and support and the in-port manager of all activities
  • Manage, drive saving initiatives & adhere to financial procedures and manage costs
  • Manage site set-up, move contractors, site labour, plant & materials around efficiently
  • Manage site set-up waste management and environmental strategy
  • Plan internal and external logistics routes through the project phases
  • Pre-plan the usage of key assets such as cranes to meet needs of the program
  • Create a secure site, responsible for all traffic management internally and externally
  • Manage installation of site accommodation & organise site inductions
  • Manage site demobilisation and the safety of Company equipment.
  • Produce daily, weekly& long-term movements plans & control materials in & out of site
  • Ensure compliance & control movement of goods off and onto the vessel tracking system
  • Manage suppliers, delivery management booking systems, contractors & sub-contractors
  • SAP budgets & scheduling, record keeping & KPI production
  • Manage a system to communicate information on site, update site safety performance
  • Select and manage a delivery management technique, process and system
  • Provide logistics instruction to all project suppliers
  • Manage movements using management system, ensure drivers meet required standards
  • Specifying and managing plant and equipment
  • Maintain and manage an asset register of all Marine equipment
  • Knowledge of hoists & cranes, create booking system to manage capacity
  • Managing logistics operatives, including taking any necessary disciplinary action
  • Ensure contractor site & ablution facilities are in accordance with the audit protocols
  • Conduct one CSR activity per month & produce a project newsletter/report
  • Ensure safety policies are followed & complete safety inspections & training
  • Produce method statements, risk assessments ensure lifting plans are produced
  • Safeguard vulnerable road users from traffic and transport created by the site
  • Maintain Site Emergency Plan (including the Site Fire Plan)
  • Ensure compliance with company security policy, port security requirement and ISPS
  • Actively police compliance with site rules & manage in-port carding process
  • Complete environmental risk assessment & update environmental reporting on site


Salary: R45k plus overtime, dependent on experience
