Logistics Co-ordinator (Tanzania)

SUMMARY:
Looking for a hands on logistics specialist with experience in the freight/cargo/transport/logistics industries.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

• Tracking assigned shipments to ensure the successful delivery of logistics services
• Handling external logistics suppliers, warehouse operations, clearing agents and freight service providers to ensure the successful delivery of jobs on time and to specification, to satisfy client requirements
• Ensuring that the clearance documentation provided by clients is proactively analyzed before the arrival of cargo and ensuring that shipping methods comply with rules, regulations and applicable laws
• Accurate and timely provision of information and resolution of queries, verifying and meeting established deadlines
• Following up on customs pre-clearances, load planning, cargo loading and transport allocation
• Making sure that empty containers are returned to the shipping line nominated depots
• Preparing accurate and timely reports as required and updating the company’s ERP systems
• Working in accordance with all company policies, procedures and processes
• Travelling to physical client and supplier sites
• Inspecting deliveries for misplaced orders or damaged goods

• 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role
• Knowledge of port, shipping, CFS and border operations
• Solid knowledge of customs clearance processes in common markets for the eastern Africa region
• Good communication, interpersonal and IT skills
