Employer Description

Our client is an energy solutions provider and supplier of electrical equipment

Job Description

Receive, record and register incoming tenders and prepare first Risk Analysis.
Estimates should be prepared in the most cost- effective manner in order that the company can submit competitive tenders
Draw up a list of equipment required in liaison with the Engineer in sufficient detail in order to apply costs, referring to previous similar contracts to assess practicalities, especially where losses have previously occurred.
Issue Vendor enquiries.
Discuss time requirements with Sales Engineering, Drawing Office, Production and Commissioning Departments and apply costs accordingly.
Visit Customer/Site Inspection when required to assess needs and technical requirements if necessary.
Submission of tenders by due date.
Attend Contract handover meeting to explain Technical Estimates on successful Tenders
Assist Contract Engineer by providing technical back-up on enquiries from potential Customers and Tenders.
Assist Customers in setting out their enquiry
Client, Consultant liaison on a continuous basis to acquire knowledge of possible future work.
Produce Standard Monthly Report for General Manager detailing activities in tendering.
Do “post-mortem” on contracts lost to others to correct weaknesses.

Qualifications

A recognized tertiary Electrical Engineering qualification/T4 or equivalent

Skills

Computer literacy and competent in using MS Excel and MS Project
Good communication skills and assertive business acumen
Sound knowledge of General Conditions of Contract
