Job & Company Description:
The Manager: Accounts (Management Accountant) will be required to take full ownership of the management of the accounts processing department. The Management Accountant will lead the finance team to ensure the quality and integrity of the financial information and the maintenance of sound and efficient internal control procedures.
The accounts processing department includes the functions of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Bank, in addition to General Ledger processing and reconciliation, VAT and statutory requirements.
The Management Accountant role has a strong emphasis on management: monitoring, review and training of the processing team.
The Management Accountant will be required to sign off on all the above processing department functions on a monthly basis. In addition to the management aspects, the Management Accountant will perform certain dedicated tasks which are set out in the job description.
Job Experience & Skills Required:
Annual Financial Statements:
Preparation of the annual financial statements and consolidated annual financial statements
Facilitation and control of the audit process
Review of age analysis and follow up on discrepancies
Review and approval of vendor payments from SAP
Payment and reconciliation of statutory obligations: VAT, PAYE, other payroll deductions
Review of age analysis and follow up of discrepancies
Work with cost controllers and line mangers to ensure that proper follow up and credit control is implemented
Processing of confidential salary cashbook transactions
Reconciliation of salary bank accounts
Review al bank reconciliations
Responsible for Business on Line banking profiles and controls
Manage daily cash balances and interest
Control Forward exchange contracts
Preparation of monthly reconciliations for key ledger accounts
Review of intercompany balances ensuring all invoices done on a monthly basis and loans reconcile
Review reconciliations and trial balance of small related companies
Maintain ticket system for support and escalate issues
Arrange continued development and training for team members
Establish an early warning system of reports and reviews required before month end close
Assist with review and corrections required on the month end process
3 to 5 years post articles experience
Registered CA with SAICA
