We’re recruiting on behalf of a Cape Town-based client looking for a hands-on and technically sound Mid-Level Mechanical Engineer with strong design and project experience. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a specialised engineering environment that serves the global gas, energy, and transport markets.

Job & Company Description:
As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll be part of a dynamic team involved in the full project lifecycle—from concept development to manufacturing support. Your responsibilities will include 3D modelling, detailed design, drawing generation, stress and structural analysis, and assisting in product development. You’ll work closely with manufacturing, quality, and project teams to ensure precision-engineered solutions are delivered on time and to spec.

Job Experience & Skills Required:

• BEng/BSc in Mechanical Engineering
• 3–5 years of mechanical design experience (preferably in pressure vessels, gas storage systems, or heavy steel fabrication)
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software
• Experience with ASME or pressure vessel design codes is a strong advantage
• Ability to read and produce detailed technical drawings
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and hands-on engineering skills
• Good communication and teamwork abilities
