JOB SUMMARY:
Implement world class practices to optimise all mechanical equipment on site by identifying and providing improvements to maximise efficiency and output of all mechanical equipment and providing specialised mechanical engineering support to the factory maintenance teams in order to achieve factory targets.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Key Performance Areas

Develop & drive improvement projects to ensure current assets are maximised to their full potential
Ensure optimal performance of all mechanical equipment through rigorous maintenance practices
Provide engineering input for the Factory focusing on steel milling plant.
Drive adherence to Group technical, risk and best maintenance practices standards, and management of technical governance requirements.
Engage effectively and collaborate with key suppliers / contractors on site
Audit and analyse maintenance systems & processes with the aim of uncovering engineering related inefficiencies
Collaborate with Maintenance Manager to identify reliability improvements through design modifications and reliability improvement strategies
Provide expertise on day-to-day Mechanical Engineering related issues, support and advise on solutions.
Provide engineering support for specifications and plant modifications
Set direction, implement and monitor continuous improvement by driving work practices, and ensuring that tools and techniques are being applied to deliver high quality products made in a safe and sustainable manner

Minimum specifications / requirement areas

BSc Mechanical Engineering
5+ years’ experience in steel manufacturing / conversion environment
Continuous improvement knowledge and experience
