Our client, a manufacturer and supplier of building materials to the retail and construction industry, is seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join their team.
The purpose of the role is to maintain acceptable efficiency standards of the Plant and Machinery
Location: Port Elizabeth/Gqeberha
Job type: On-site – Permanent
Duties and Responsibilities
- Compliance with all EH & S guidelines and procedures.
- Maintain all mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Adhere to planned maintenance system
- Tend to breakdowns timeously
- Control on spares used
- Perform Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
- Assist with projects i.e. alteration of machine/upgrades
- Repair pneumatic cylinders, valves and new installations and basic maintenance
- Housekeeping
Minimum Requirements
- N3 Mechanical/matric with Maths and Science
- Trade Test Certificate: Fitter or Electrician
- Minimum 2-4 years in production environment
- Working knowledge of electrical equipment and pneumatics
Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Advanced practical knowledge of processes and safety.
- Advanced problem-solving skills
