POSITION INFO:

Our client, a manufacturer and supplier of building materials to the retail and construction industry, is seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join their team.

The purpose of the role is to maintain acceptable efficiency standards of the Plant and Machinery

Location: Port Elizabeth/Gqeberha

Job type: On-site – Permanent

Duties and Responsibilities

Compliance with all EH & S guidelines and procedures.
Maintain all mechanical and electrical equipment.
Adhere to planned maintenance system
Tend to breakdowns timeously
Control on spares used
Perform Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
Assist with projects i.e. alteration of machine/upgrades
Repair pneumatic cylinders, valves and new installations and basic maintenance
Housekeeping

Minimum Requirements

N3 Mechanical/matric with Maths and Science
Trade Test Certificate: Fitter or Electrician
Minimum 2-4 years in production environment
Working knowledge of electrical equipment and pneumatics

Skills

Strong interpersonal skills.
Advanced practical knowledge of processes and safety.
Advanced problem-solving skills
