Mechanical Fitter - Injection Moulding/Manufacturing

SUMMARY:
We are seeking a qualified Mechanical Fitter with 3-5 years of experience in injection mould manufacturing to join our skilled production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the assembly, maintenance, and repair of injection moulding machinery and equipment to ensure optimal production efficiency.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, and commission new injection moulding machines and equipment
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on injection moulding machinery
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on injection moulding equipment
• Conduct machine overhauls and component replacements
• Maintain and calibrate hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Install and align machine components to precise specifications
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective measures
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
• Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures
• Support continuous improvement initiatives

• Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting or equivalent
• 3-5 years proven experience in injection mould manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of injection moulding machine mechanics and operations
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Proficiency in reading technical drawings and schematics
• Competency with precision measuring instruments
• Understanding of electrical systems (advantageous)
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and under pressure
• Excellent attention to detail and quality focus
• Valid trade certificate and relevant safety certifications

• Experience with injection moulding machines
• Knowledge of PLC systems and basic electrical troubleshooting
• Welding certification
• Millwright or related mechanical qualifications
• Experience with CNC machinery maintenance

• Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and industrial conditions
• May require working in confined spaces and at heights
• Shift work including nights and weekends may be required
• Physical demands include lifting, bending, and manual handling
