Job Description

Global leader seeks a dynamic/ driven the NBD sales manager, with a great track record. Someone who will challenge the NSM thinking, see aggressive growth & take the business to the next level.
 
Knowledge and Experience Required:-

  • Matric plus suitable Tertiary Qualification.

  • 5 - 10 years’ experience in sales at a managerial level.

  • Key Account experience.

  • Experience with CRM systems, especially as an opportunity management tool.

  • Understanding the RSA market

  • Strong business and financial acumen.

  • Strong analytical and administrative skills.

  • Good IT knowledge

  • A “can do” attitude/spirit.

  • Must be a concise and persuasive communicator.

  • Must be a good verbal and written communicator, especially in English.

  • An international mindset is essential, covering aspects of open mindedness, cross cultural tolerance, adaptability, a willingness to change, and a holistic view

Purpose of Job:

  • Key focus is to drive profit and sales growth; aligning your team to business goals. To enhance effectiveness and efficiency of the Sales functions.

  • Manage a team of 12, within Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg branches. (Travel 1 x month)

  • Develop Key Account plans and roll out company strategies and collaborate with the S.A national sales manager/Head of global sales

  • To maintain essential documentation and information flow to all Key Account and Sales Management.

  • To attract and retain the best sales talent

  • Engage with key strategic customers in Joint Business Planning

  • Develop a profitable business model for each channel

 
Principal Accountabilities/Main Functions:

  • Continuously provide direction to the team
    Take accountability for the quality of the technology and processes within the department and implement changes and best practice as required

  • Drive change and lead the implementation of best practice

  • Manage and monitor adherence to best practice and performance

  • Promote self-management – inspire and motivate team members to drive themselves to better results.

  • Understand and define areas for improvements within the external and internal Sales team
    Define and follow up improvement action plans (internal/external)

  • Develop and implement yearly Sales and Distribution plan for the NBD business team and ensure monthly Targets and Key Performance Indicators are met

  • Develop and monitor the action plan to achieve volume targets

  • Develop and drive incentives in the team

  • Explore new business opportunities and close new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations

  •  Develop good sales forecasting and sales strategies

Finance and Budget

  • Provide input into the budget setting process, and take overall accountability for working within budget

  • Oversee the day-to-day management the department’s budget

  • Give feedback against the budget tracker

  • Policies and Process

  • Direct the Implementation and compliance of all Company policies related to HR/ Commercial

  • Conduct relevant annual audits

Leadership and Management

  • Manage and motivate the team in the delivery of team objectives

  • Continuously identify gaps versus required competencies and propose adequate training and development support

  • Conduct internal performance management and IDP processes fairly and consistently, resulting in transparent succession planning and specific development areas

  • Recruit for vacancies within the team

  • Facilitate the setting of team objectives

  • Mentor and coach team members , as required Integration

  • Develop and provide Management Information support for effective and efficient management of the business

  • Ensure highly motivated and trained Sales team aligned to the Vision and Mission and high Sales Productivity

  • Maintains contact and liaison with Sales Agents and Key Accounts as well as external customers.

  • Tracks expenditure by sector and liaises with Finance in quarterly reconciliations
