JOB SUMMARY:
Major retail distributor seeks a Risk and Security Manager to oversee all company DCs nationally.
The incumbent must be a leader of change within complex risk environments, such as security, business continuity, environment health, operational health & safety, CCTV, asset control

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Requirements:
  • 10 years senior managerial experience
  • Degree or diploma in Risk management; forensic sciences; criminology
  • Experience in warehousing or manufacturing environment
  • Stock management experience (inventory)
  • Budget management
  • Benchmark and roll-out best in class policies
  • Minimize asset losses
  • Develop Business Continuity plans
  • CCTV
  • Security experience
  • Forensic mindset/experience
  • Strong systems affinity
  • Regular travel
Duties include:
  • Designing and implementing an overall risk management process for the organization, which includes:
    • Security
    • Business continuity
    • Theft and fraud prevention
    • CCTV control
    • Health and Safety programs
    • Gathering appropriate intelligence to minimize risk
    • Process controls
  • Overall management and coordination of all DC activities (inbound, outbound, returns, inventory management, Risk and facility management)
  • Standardize processes and policies across all DCs
  • Develop a trusted network of service providers
  • Develop a strong intelligence network
  • Manage budget and control expenses.
  • Recommending policies and programs, which guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation.
  • Generate, cultivate and communicate ideas for continual improvement of processes and activities across all areas of the DCs operation.
  • Explaining the external risk posed by corporate governance to stakeholders
  • Creating business continuity plans to limit risks
  • Implementing health and safety measures, and purchasing insurance
  • Conduct policy and compliance audits, which will include liaising with internal and external auditors
  • Maintain records of insurance policies and claims
  • Prepare various reports and analyses as required.
  • Research and reconcile forecasted financial results with posted General Ledger results as part of the Month-end reconciliation.
  • Foster a strong culture of teamwork and high staff engagement
  • building a best-in-class safety operating environment and high quality.
  • Perform risks assessments: Analyse current risks and identify potential risks that are affecting the company
  • Perform risk evaluations: Evaluate the company’s previous handling of risks, and compare potential risks with criteria set out by the company such as costs and legal requirements
  • Establish the level of risk the company are willing to take
  • Prepare risk management and insurance budgets
  • Risk reporting tailored to the relevant audience.
  • Liaise with DC GMs and DC Risk Managers to develop DC critical hot map
  • Monitor and analyze stock losses
Can either be based in Cape Town or Johannesburg
