Nutanix and VMWare / VRealize Specialist - Contract

Our Client a Global tech firm is seeking a Nutanix and VMWare / VRealize Specialist to join their team in Sandton on a contract basis. They offer stability, growth, attractive rates and an excellent working environment.

As a VMWare and Nutanix specialist, you'll be tasked with supporting the implementation of virtualization in both VMware environments as well as Nutanix environments.

Requirements

Audit

• Visit each MM Datacenter and document each cabinet individually, adding all information to MS Visio (Per Cabinet and 3D environmental drawing)
• Main DC x2 physically audited on build/scope document vs actual build. Report to be submitted
• Main DC x2 checked and audited on Netbox vs physical check report
• Assess all EOL assets and report
• Verify all VMware / Nutanix licensing and report end dates
• Location: Gauteng, KZN, Western Cape

VRealize

• Assess newly setup VR Ops / Automation vs industry & vendor standards. Recommend specific areas of concern and/or improvement if / where needed
• Engage with MM Support Vendor on daily / weekly / monthly reporting that will benefit the DC team and present report to DC Manager
• Location: Gauteng Home Office

Hypervisor / Clusters

• Audit the HV environment based on industry and vendor standards. Recommend specific areas of concern and/or improvement if / where needed
• Include licensing audit in report
• Assess access on all clusters / Hypervisors, confirm defaults removed/changed
• Engage with PM team on DC Consolidation and growth planning

General

• Business hours only
• Onsite for remote locations
• Weekly feedback session with the DC team

Location

• KZN – 1 Week
• Western Cape – 3 days
• Gauteng – Remainder of contract

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field
• VMWare ESXi (4+ Years)
• Nutanix / AHV (4+ Years)
• VRealize Suite (2+ Years)
• DC Operations (2+ Years)
• Environmental Auditing (2+ Years)
• Documentation (2+ Years)
