OHS Officer

SUMMARY:
We are seeking a qualified OHS Officer with expertise in bulk infrastructure projects to join our client's team for a 36 months contract.

The successful candidate will enforce safety standards, conduct risk assessments, and ensure compliance with OHS regulations.

POSITION INFO:
Our client in the Engineering sector is looking for an OHS Officer to join their team for a project in KwaZulu Natal, Kwa Dukuza.

Desired Qualifications and Skills:

• Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
• Full registration as a Professional Construction Health and Safety Agent (Pr.CHSA) with SACAP (non-negotiable).
• 5+ years of experience in OHS management for construction or infrastructure projects.
• SAMTRAC and NEBOSH certifications are advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of OHS legislation and safety management systems.

• Develop and implement OHS policies and procedures for infrastructure projects.
• Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and site inspections to identify hazards.
• Ensure compliance with OHS Act, regulations, and industry standards.
• Prepare and maintain safety documentation, including incident reports and safety plans.
• Train and educate project teams on safety protocols and best practices.
• Investigate workplace incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Liaise with stakeholders, including contractors and regulatory bodies, to ensure safety compliance.
