SUMMARY:
Experienced Operations Manager required for the established division of our client, a large Logistics Group, to oversee the daily operations of their abnormal transport business nationally as well as cross-border activities.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee daily operations including planning, scheduling routing and general fleet management.
Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency.
Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure that targets are met.
Manage and mentor a team of drivers, fleet controllers and support staff.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery, including the use of subcontractors.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
Analyse operational data to identify areas for improvement and cost savings.
Foster strong relationships with clients and suppliers to enhance service quality.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

Grade 12.
A formal qualification in Business Management, Logistics, Transportation or a related field will be an advantage.
Proven experience in transport operations management, preferably in the abnormal transport industry.
Energetic with a strong sense of responsibility and accountability.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Knowledge of cross-border abnormal transport operations.
Experience in abnormal load permits and load configuration will be an advantage.
Knowledge of logistics software and tracking systems is a plus.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Available after hours and over weekends to resolve any operational issues that may arise.
