SUMMARY:
We are seeking a skilled, and experienced Paramedic to join a healthcare team at a private hospital in Durban..

POSITION INFO:

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to optimal service delivery within the hospital and surrounding community.

Solid understanding of triage systems, disaster management, and strategies for ensuring smooth patient flow and care transition.

Key duties:

Serve as a core member of the LSU Paramedic and Hospital Resuscitation Team.
Manage and lead all resuscitation efforts within the hospital.
Facilitate seamless handovers of all EMS patient arrivals and inter-facility transfers.
Respond to EMS calls received via the hospital''s EMS Emergency Assistance Line and from the broader community, including private, public, and government entities.
Assist in the ongoing training of A&E unit and in-hospital staff in Basic and Advanced Life Support skills.

Minimum requirements:

Advanced Life Support - Only BTech EMC, CCA or National Diploma will be considered
HPCSA registration as an Advanced Life Support Paramedic (active status).
Proven experience in both government and private sector EMS environments.
Able to provide a portfolio of evidence confirming operational experience at ALS level.
Fully CPD compliant and up to date with the latest CPG update.
Current certification in BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLSHCP), ACLS, and PALS (essential).
Additional instructor-level qualifications in BLSHCP, ACLS EP, or PALS EP are advantageous.
Other advanced certifications such as ITLS, ATLS (Auditor), and AHCP will be considered a strong asset.
Computer literate and proficient in healthcare-related digital systems.
Possession of a valid Code 08 driver’s license with PDP, along with advanced/high-performance driving competency.
Flexibility to work shifts, including standby duties and emergency callouts.
Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
