Pastry Chef

SUMMARY:
A luxury 5-star game lodge is looking for a skilled and creative Pastry Chef to join their kitchen team. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for refined desserts and baked goods, and who thrives in a remote, high-end hospitality environment.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare a variety of high-quality pastries, breads, and desserts for daily service
• Ensure presentation and taste meet 5-star standards and guest expectations
• Work closely with the Head Chef to develop seasonal and occasion-based dessert menus
• Maintain hygiene and cleanliness in the pastry section in line with health & safety regulations
• Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering, and reduce wastage
• Support training and supervision of junior kitchen staff when required

• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a pastry role, ideally within a 5-star lodge or hotel
• Formal culinary or pastry qualification
• Creative, detail-oriented, and passionate about fine desserts and presentation
• Good knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen hygiene practices
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to a remote bush environment
• Strong team player with a positive attitude and good communication skills
