PostgrSQL Developer

SUMMARY:
A leading telematics company is in search of a skilled PostgreSQL Developer to join their high-performance tech team. This individual will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing a global platform that processes over 60 million tracking records daily. Based in Cape Town’s Southern Suburbs, the hybrid role offers a competitive salary, exposure to Agile practices, and a meaningful global footprint.

POSITION INFO:

Design, develop, and maintain PostgreSQL and SQL Server databases engineered for high performance
Write efficient, scalable stored procedures and queries to ensure reliability under load
Collaborate with international team members using Visual Studio, GitHub, and Jenkins
Improve and troubleshoot real-time, customer-facing systems
Apply Linux system administration to fine-tune database speed and efficiency

Skills & Experience:
Minimum 4–6 years of experience working with PostgreSQL in demanding production environments
Solid expertise in PL/pgSQL, T-SQL, and SQL Server
Strong background in database design and query optimization
Proficiency in Linux environments and familiarity with Agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines
Advantageous experience includes C#, Python, PowerShell, ASP.NET MVC, or cloud/container technologies like AWS, Azure, or Docker
A highly analytical mindset, strong communication skills, and a passion for building impactful solutions

Qualification:
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent hands-on experience will also be considered.
