SUMMARY:
Product Designer
Location: Montague Gardens, Cape Town
Department: New Product Development
Reporting to: NPD Manager
 
Our client in the converted paper product manufacturing industry, based in Montague Gardens, Cape Town, is seeking a creative and technically skilled Product Designer to lead the development of seasonal product ranges. This role involves guiding the full design process from concept to production, ensuring innovative, brand-aligned products reach the market successfully.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities

• Develop trend-forward, commercially viable product concepts
• Translate brand identity into all designs
• Create detailed CADs and tech packs to support cost-effective production
• Monitor product performance and drive ongoing improvements
• Work cross-functionally to ensure quality and timely sample execution
• Identify market gaps and contribute to new product development

• Tertiary qualification in Fashion Design
• 3+ years of relevant experience (preferably in textiles or manufacturing)
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
• Solid knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, and trims
• Detail-oriented with excellent planning and communication skills
• Ability to thrive under pressure, both independently and in a team
• Driver’s license and own transport preferred
