Summary: Product and Solution Director required for a prosperous Electrical firm based in Midrand to be in charge of developing new market, new customers, and building customer relationships.



Job Description


Job objective

The incumbent is to identify sales leads, pitch products and services such as electricity distribution systems to new clients and maintain a good working relationship with new contacts.  The goal is to keep clients or accounts as long as possible. Tasks may involve project management, strategic planning, sales support, product design, service application, logistics, and marketing. 


  • Following up new business opportunities and setting up meetings 
  • Planning and preparing presentations 
  • Communicating new product developments to prospective clients 
  • Be the primary point of contact and build long-term relationships with customers
  • Help customers through email, phone, online presentations, screen-share and in person meetings 
  • Develop a trusted advisor relationship with key accounts, customer stakeholders and executive sponsors 
  • Ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and objectives 
  • Communicate clearly the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders
  • Forecast and track key account metrics 
  • Enhance department and organization’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests
  • exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments 
  • Responsible for keeping clients satisfied and delivering exceptional client service on a day-to-day basis 
  • Monitor and analyze customer’s usage of our product
  • Responsible for working with the Sales team to onboard and integrate new clients and developing existing client relationships
  • Liaise between the customer and internal teams


Job requirements

  • Grade12
  • BSc degree in Electrical or relevant field 
  • Must have extensive knowledge of energy distribution systems
  • At least 5 years working experience in new Business Management and Sales
  • Experience with energy or water business or Electricity is required
  • Minimum 6 or more years of experience in power generation market
  • Hands on experience in sales technical knowledge and ability to deliver excellent customer service
  • Experience with SCADA, OMS etc. very advantageous
  • Knowledge of CRM software and MS Office (MS Excel in particular)
  • Understanding of sales performance metrics
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • An ability to deliver projects and answer inquiries on time
  • Business acumen with a problem-solving attitude
