Production Lead, FMCG Industry, (KZN), Market-related Salary

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our Client, a National blue-chip Group Leader in the FMCG industry, is seeking to URGENTLY appoint a dynamic Production Lead to be based at their Eston, KZN Manufacturing Facility [R’s NEG]


MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

  • Report directly into the Factory Manager
  • Provide direction, technical guidance and leadership in production to ensure the production of highest quality products
  • Support teams in achieving maximum production capacity through preventative and reactive operational maintenance
  • Partner with finance to develop production budget and ensure production is managed within budget and achieves cost synergies

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

  • Through interface with Maintenance, direct and embed the “The Group’s Way of Production” as stipulated in approved standards to ensure the Group is a world class FMCG producer
  • Audit and analyze production systems & processes with the aim of uncovering inefficiencies
  • Drive optimization processes by implementing MOPS and TOPS practices to uplift the production performance.
  • Lead implementation of iAMP principles within the production team
  • Lead the production and packing planning processes and interfaces in driving effective S&OP across the supply chain
  • Ensure adoption, and embedding and consistency of critical Laboratory and Maintenance interfaces in enabling BAU and step improvement performance in Production
  • Coordinate Coaching and training to PSMs and Production Foremen in ensuring ongoing development; and embed the talent management of production critical roles
  • Provide day to day process control and problem-solving support to achieve daily production and performance targets
  • Ensure production targets are met and that production is managed within budget
  • Promote cross-functional and stakeholder engagement & team work
  • Model Leadership behaviours, collaborating, partnering and communicating effectively within and between teams and support functions
  • Promote a culture of consistently assessing risks and drive continuous improvement
  • Adhere to SHERQ & Food Safety and Quality standards and promote best practices in these areas

KEY COMPETENCY REQUIREMENT:

  • Minimum Relevant degree or diploma
  • Minimum 5-7 years of working experience in the FMCG Manufacturing Factory environment
  • Possess a successful track record in handling issues related to Sugar Factory production, associated process controls, food processing and packing operations and laboratory analyses.
