Professional Structural Engineer/Technologist

SUMMARY:
A proudly South African Consulting Engineering Company providing professional services through innovative thinking and offering solutions to a wide client base (including Building Services, Infrastructure, Mining, Industrial and Transport Infrastructure), requires the full-time services of a
Professional Structural Engineer/Technologist based in George or Mossel Bay, for a permanent position in the Structural Engineering Department.
The candidate must have a B Eng, BSc or B Tech in Civil Engineering, be Professionally ECSA registered, and have at least 5+ years of post-registration experience.
The Structural Engineer is responsible for structural design, project delivery, client coordination, and mentorship of junior staff. This role plays a key part in technical leadership within the structural engineering unit.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities

• Prepare structural designs for building and water-retaining structures
• Conduct condition assessments and structural inspections
• Lead and manage junior engineers and draftspersons
• Engage directly with clients and consultants
• Oversee project timelines, quality control, and deliverables
• Support tender documentation and technical reporting
• Ensure compliance with local and international design codes

• B Eng / BSc or B.Tech Civil Engineer.
• ECSA Registered (as Professional/Technologist).
• Minimum 5+ years post-registration experience
• Buildings, reservoirs, tanks, commercial and public infrastructure
• Prokon, AutoCAD, Revit (preferred), MS Office
• Structural design and analysis tools
• Team player with strong communication skills
• Must be fluent in Afrikaans and English
• Independent, detail-oriented, and quality-focused
• Must be living in the Garden Route, or be prepared to move to George/Mossel Bay
