Project Overview:

Extending an existing 70,000m2 Foods distribution centre which operates 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year to 124,000m2. The project will be from July 2022 until 2025.
The construction will take place while the facility continues to function and the Project Manager needs to have experience in working with a construction professional team and integrating back to the operational team and end user.
The project will impact operational areas which need to be carefully relocated without impacting service to store.
The Project Manager would be responsible for planning operational shifts into new areas, integrating with the construction manager to ensure that changes on site are integrated with people flow and the General manager. There will be sub-teams managing installation of fit out equipment like racking.
The Project Manager will need to be based in Johannesburg for most of the time, but there will be a requirement to attend meetings in Cape Town.

Key responsibilities:

Update RSC Program manager on progress, risk assessments
Ensure planning integration between construction and operations
Excellent understanding of Supply Chain and Logistics
Excellent understanding of Construction
Document clear roles and responsibilities for the project team
