JOB SUMMARY:
FAA seeks the services of a young, talented and enthusiastic individual to fill the position of Public Policy and Stakeholder Relations Officer.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The ideal candidate will have an academic background in the social sciences, with an Honours degree in either politics science, public management, stakeholder relations or related.

The successful candidate must have a keen eye for the detailed and strategic, as well as an in-depth understanding of South Africa’s political, policy and law-making processes. A good understanding of South Africa’s inter-governmental relations and the role of social partners in policy making is a must. An outgoing demeanour and very strong interpersonal skills are imperative.

Job Description

Conduct detailed stakeholder mapping, profiling and facilitate engagement
Stakeholder relations
Perform detailed analysis on relevant issues
Conduct political and economic research
Provide public policy and regulatory affairs analysis
Assist with the development of client positions on relevant regulatory and public policy
Monitor and report on government, parliamentary and political party positions on key political and public policy issues
Take an active role in relationship building
Engagement, mobilizing, communication and coordinating with 3rd party policy advocates
Advocacy campaign development
Client relations
Business development and presentation development
Writing monthly reports and weekly op-eds on topical issues
Other administrative tasks as assigned by Supervisor
