SUMMARY:
A thriving organization in the farming and agriculture sector is eagerly looking for a Risk and Compliance Officer to join their team in Pretoria, Gauteng.

POSITION INFO:
In this role, you will be responsible for providing meaningful insight and guidance for internal and external departments - this includes the legal, insurance, financial and credit divisions. You will be expected to draft and implement policies and procedures, as well as oversee compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

Risk Management: Identify, assess, and prioritize risks that could affect the organization's reputation, financial security, or operations. This involves conducting risk assessments, developing risk management strategies, and implementing risk mitigation plans.
Compliance Oversight: Ensure that the organization complies with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies. This includes staying updated on regulatory changes, interpreting compliance requirements, and developing compliance programs.
Policy Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that promote ethical behaviour and compliance with regulations.
Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor compliance activities within the organization, conduct audits and reviews, and prepare reports for senior management and regulatory authorities.
Crisis Management: In the event of a compliance breach or a significant risk event, lead or support crisis management efforts to minimize damage to the organization's reputation and operations.
Advisory: Serve as a trusted advisor to senior management and other departments, providing guidance on compliance and risk-related matters and helping to integrate risk management into strategic decision-making processes.

Requirements:

BCom Risk Management.
Minimum 2 years industry experience, preferably in the insurance sector.
Strong understanding of Insurance risk management and compliance standards.
Knowledgeable of farming and the agricultural industry.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex technical information.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present findings and recommendations clearly and concisely.
