SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

SUMMARY:
Must have solid 5+ years of experience in an Accounting role. Degree required, CIMA & SAIBA advantageous. Experience in a manufacturing/factory/retail environment is a necessity. Must be willing to work in a fast and demanding work environment. Highly energetic individual required. Solid experience in manufacturing environment.

POSITION INFO:

My esteemed client, a giant in the manufacturing industry has an excellent opportunity for an Accountant at their Head Office in Vereeniging.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage imports (liaise with clearing + forwarding agents, foreign suppliers, factory personnel. Costing sheets reporting)
• Foreign creditors goods receipting and invoice verification
• Foreign creditors reconciliations and payments
• Check and approve local creditor recons and follow up on reconciling items
• Open Purchase orders and GRIR maintenance
• Responsible for part of month-end journals
• Monthly raw material consumption
• Monthly Agent Commission reconciliation and payment
• General Ledger recons
• Preparation and maintenance of monthly Management Accounts (including SAP recon, queries, and trial balances)
• Preparation and journalizing of VAT returns and entries.
• Part of quarterly and annual Financial Reporting, working closely with the auditors and rest of finance team
• Analyzing of the BEE information on a regular basis

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• SAP experience will be an advantage
• BCom Degree
• 4 – 6 years’ experience
