Our client, a leading automotive and speciality steel service centre is looking for a Supply chain co-ordinator to join their team

POSITION INFO:

Job Overview: As a Supply Chain Coordinator for our clients Steel Division, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing the supply chain processes related to steel products. You will be responsible for coordinating the flow of materials and ensuring timely delivery to meet customer demands. This position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with suppliers, internal teams, and logistics partners to ensure efficient procurement, transportation, and delivery of steel products.
• Monitor inventory levels and perform regular analysis to optimize stock levels and minimize costs.
• Coordinate with production and planning teams to ensure accurate demand forecasting and timely production scheduling.
• Track shipments and provide regular updates to internal stakeholders regarding order status, delays, and potential issues.
• Manage relationships with suppliers, negotiating pricing, terms, and contracts to ensure the best value for the company.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance supply chain efficiency and reduce lead times.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain accurate documentation related to shipments, customs, and import/export activities.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations of suppliers, assessing their reliability, quality, and delivery performance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field would be advantageous
• Proven experience (3-5 years’) in supply chain coordination, within the steel industry.
• Steel buying experience would be advantageous
• Solid understanding of supply chain processes, logistics, and inventory management principles.
• Proficiency in using supply chain management software and tools.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and logistics partners.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of international trade, customs regulations, and import/export procedures is a plus.
