JOB SUMMARY:

A developer and manufacturer of specialised planting solutions for the Agricultural, Horticultural and Forestry industries is seeking a dynamic Sales Agronomist to position the company’s latest products and technology in the industry by providing technical and sales support to consultants and clients.

JOB DESCRIPTION:


Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Must have a BSc or MSc in Agriculture (majors in Soil Science / Agronomy preferable)
  • Minimum 8 years’ infield industry experience in a similar role will be required
  • Must have completed a BASOS/FACTS course
  • AVCASA qualification is preferable
  • Excellent working knowledge of product and market development in the tree crop and horticulture space (focus citrus, macs, pecan, avocados, grape, apples etc.) is essential
  • An understanding and working knowledge of the chemical regulatory, fertilizer and biological markets in the agriculture sector is preferred
  • Must be able to work directly with farmers and assist representatives at different levels of technical expertise
  • Sales management and presentation skills will be required

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Assisting in marketing and positioning of the company’s latest technologies and products.
  • Developing, reviewing and approving fertilizer recommendations for farmers' sites, based on soil, water and other inputs, coupled with crop specific requirements.
  • Conducting site assessments to investigate nutritional deficiencies or other aspects if required.
  • Managing a team working with new programme – farms, blends, customers, crops, and samples etc.
  • Reviewing farming reports generated and assisting in presenting findings to management, clients, or other interested parties.
  • Promoting all other company agricultural products as required.
  • Integrating with the inhouse marketing team by reviewing and approving i.e., marketing and training material.
  • Managing product trials to gather information for commercialization and sales purposes.
  • Providing support to consultants and clients as required.
Salary package, including benefits, are highly negotiable depending on experience gained
