Duties:
- Automate the deployment of IaaS and PaaS services using Azure DevOps pipelines.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines that support development velocity, security, and auditability.
- Lead implementation of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using tools like ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform.
- Enable cloud-native observability and automated remediation through monitoring, logging, and alerting.
- Collaborate with architects and developers to translate technical designs into scalable Azure solutions.
- Integrate 3rd-party hosted and on-prem solutions into Azure DevOps workflows and Azure Active Directory.
- Own and manage source control, build, release, and configuration strategies across development environments.
- Champion environment automation, release governance, testing, and compliance practices.
- Lead DevOps engineering best practices and support cloud-related incidents and investigations.
- Implement security policies, vulnerability scanning, access management and reporting in Azure DevOps.
- Mentor junior DevOps engineers and act as a liaison between infrastructure and development teams.
Job Experience & Skills Required:Qualifications: - Matric (Grade 12)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
- Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert or equivalent.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or Azure Developer Associate.
- Microsoft Specialist: Implementing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions.
- Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist.
Experience: - Minimum 8 - 10 years in technical infrastructure or DevOps roles.
- At least 5 years in cloud-native DevOps within Azure environments.
- Proven experience implementing CI/CD in enterprise environments.
- Background in system automation using PowerShell or related scripting.
- Experience supporting Windows Server OS, virtualisation, O365, and Azure-based environments.
Skills & Competencies:- Strong PowerShell scripting and automation capabilities.
- Deep understanding of Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD tooling.
- Expertise in Microsoft architecture and cloud design.
- Familiarity with information security and compliance frameworks.
- Experience in cloud backups, monitoring, business continuity, and disaster recovery.
- Ability to mediate and translate technical requirements between infrastructure and DevOps teams.
- Strong communication and project management skills.
- Proactive mindset, able to identify cost-saving opportunities and scalability challenges.
- Understanding of multi-tenant governance, identity management, and operational controls.
