Duties:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend architectures.
• Build and optimise APIs (REST, GraphQL) for seamless frontend and third-party integration.
• Enhance database performance, data storage, and retrieval processes.
• Implement security best practices to protect applications from vulnerabilities.
• Work with DevOps teams to automate deployments and manage cloud infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot bugs, performance issues, and production bottlenecks.
• Lead and mentor junior developers, ensuring code quality through reviews and best practices.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to backend systems.

• Matric (Grade 12)
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Honour’s degree in related field will be advantageous.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)

• 8 - 10 years of experience as a Backend Developer.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing scalable backend systems.
• Hands-on experience with system architecture and cloud computing.
• Experience working with large-scale databases and performance tuning.
• Experience with C#.
• Experience with NET, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
• Expertise in database management (SQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Experience of Azure cloud
• Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, Cloud Platforms and DevOps practices.

• Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
• Ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to lead backend development projects and mentor junior developers.
• Passion for learning new technologies and staying up to date with industry trends.
