Senior Bookkeeper / Accountant

SUMMARY:
Hillcrest - A Bookkeeper / Accountant is required to manage monthly transaction processing and financial reporting. This role demands accuracy, efficiency, and strong client engagement.

Job Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for processing monthly transactions, preparing financial reports, and maintaining accurate account records. Duties include working directly with client-supplied documentation and ensuring deadlines are consistently met. This role will also involve on-premise visits to clients when required and overseeing various reconciliations and reporting duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Process source documents received or downloaded electronically.
• Liaise with clients to ensure timely receipt of all required documentation.
• Record all bank and petty cash transactions.
• Reconcile bank and intercompany loan accounts.
• Raise monthly accruals where applicable.
• Process inventory adjustments.
• Identify and raise fixed assets, including disposals and depreciation entries.
• Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register.
• Review debtors and creditors age analysis for irregularities.
• Verify correct ISA allocations and raise interest provisions.
• Prepare monthly management accounts.
• Compile VAT reports for submission by the tax team.
• Update WIP schedules daily to ensure deadlines are met.
• Attend to client visits as needed for on-site work.

• Own Vehicle Non-negotiable as may be required to visit clients
• Tertiary education in Accounting/ Bookkeeping or related field
• SAICA or SAIPA-accredited accounting degree with completed Articles highly advantageous
• Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience
• Proficient in Xero, Pastel, and CaseWare
• Working knowledge of SARS, Efiling and CIPC
