🚀 Senior Data Engineer – Microsoft Fabric

POSITION INFO:

🔍 Key Responsibilities, Duties, and Tasks:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric.
• Architect and optimize modern data warehouses and lakehouses.
• Implement robust ETL/ELT processes and ensure efficient data ingestion, transformation, and delivery.
• Develop business-aligned data models to support analytics and reporting objectives.
• Maintain data integrity, version control, governance, and security across the ecosystem.

• Maintain and update Power BI dashboards and reports to align with evolving business needs.
• Assist with data extractions and run defined SQL queries for operational insights.
• Perform data validations, reconciliations, and support data documentation efforts.
• Develop and maintain high-quality semantic models in Power BI (Premium or Embedded a plus).

• Build and lead a data team, starting with an existing analyst and expanding as needed.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions and guide architectural decisions.
• Mentor junior team members, support their development, and cultivate a collaborative culture.
• Participate in data testing, agile planning, and stakeholder communication.

✅ Experience Required:

• 5+ years’ experience in data engineering, with proven expertise in Microsoft Fabric and the Azure Data stack.
• Solid understanding of analytics, data integration, governance, and reporting.
• Experience in leading or mentoring technical teams.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical teams.

💡 Technical Skills:

• Strong expertise in Azure Data Services (Azure Synapse, Data Factory, Databricks, Azure SQL, etc.)
• Proven experience with Microsoft Fabric capabilities: Pipelines, Lakehouse, Warehouse
• Proficiency in T-SQL (stored procedures/functions) and PySpark/Spark SQL in Microsoft Fabric or Azure Databricks
• Advanced experience in ETL/ELT design, performance optimization, and data transformation
• Experience designing star schema based data models and building scalable analytics solutions
• Strong background in data governance, compliance, and security best practices
• Hands-on experience developing semantic models (datasets) in Power BI, including Premium or Embedded
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps, GitHub, and use of Power BI Deployment Pipelines for CI/CD

🎓 Preferred Qualifications:

• One of the following Microsoft Certifications:
  
  • Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203)
  • Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate (DP-600)
  • Fabric Data Engineer Associate (DP-700)
• Experience with machine learning models or AI-driven analytics
• Background in financial services, sales optimization, or regulatory reporting
