Duties:

Understand and evaluate environmental inter-dependencies, impacts, and opportunities
Integrate relevant macro factors into data analytics plans
Adjust and improve data capabilities
Participate in decision-making to support downstream analytics
Develop statistical models to collect, organise and summarise data
Perform ad hoc exploratory statistics and data mining tasks on datasets
Provide users with collaboration analytic tools to enable business insights and timeous problem solving
Develop predictive modelling and machine learning approaches
Analyse data visualisation and summarise data techniques
Provide complex risk analysis
Partner with business teams to support strategic business choices and investment decisions
Implement change management practices to ensure that any changes are understood, and project objectives achieved

Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications:

Matric (Grade 12)

Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Science, Information Technology) or equivalent NQF8 level qualification
Post graduate qualification (non-negotiable)

Experience:

5 - 8 years’ data science experience in banking or finance

Knowledge of investment banking environment and products would be advantageous
In depth knowledge and application of probability and statistics
Advanced analytical languages are a must
Big data tools would be advantageous
Machine learning techniques would be advantageous
