Senior DevSecOps Engineer

The ideal candidate will be the custodian of the companies Platform running on AWS, this will entail ensuring a secure, highly available, operationally stable and DR enabled environment. Your responsibility will include:

• Scripting of environment and DevSecOps processes
• Spearhead performance and availability incidents
• Support the product engineering team with CI/CD automation
• Assist the engineering team to identify opportunities for increasing application performance and ultimately client experience
•  Introduce innovation by staying abreast of DevSecOps and Cloud industry trends
• Partner with the engineering team and provide input on engineering design and architecture based on your knowledge of platform capability
• Lead and mentor the DevSecOps segment of the business which currently consists of a DevOps Engineer and Information Security Administrator
• Implement comprehensive real-time monitoring across the entire platform and running applications. Identify leading and lagging metrics to provide insight into

  •  Utilization
• Assist architectural team with strategy and critical thinking in how to best manage, monitor, report and optimize our stack
• Collaborate with the solution architect to ensure that designs and best practices are being implemented.

Ideal Candidate

• You have the ability to work on your own, sometimes spearheading a new direction with minimal guidance
• You are a DevSecOps specialist with demonstrable experience in automation, CI/CD, Unix based systems
• Experienced in architecture, securing and managing AWS, or other major cloud platforms
• You have implemented monitoring, incident, alerting and escalation systems
• You know how to optimize an application to improve responsiveness
• Have implemented DR/BCP practices and procedures
• You have experience with Node.JS/Python/Bash
• You are experienced in managing SQL and No-SQL databases
• You are experienced in Bitbucket and/or Github Enterprise
• Experience with leading people and willingness to invest time in mentoring colleagues
• Experienced in managing socket, RESTful, containerized, server-less, workflow and messaging based architectures
• Critical thinker with the ability to communicate with stakeholders

Qualifications 

•  Bachelor of Computer Science, Engineering ( or related ) or 5+ years of working experience.
• Amazon Web Service or Microsoft Azure Professional level certification
• DevOps related certification desirable
