Senior Draughtsman

SUMMARY:
A leading, multi-disciplined company, specialising in wear and tear spares as well as mechanical parts is looking for a Senior Draughtsman to join their team in Johannesburg.

POSITION INFO:
Skills:
Must have experience in working within the mining equipment field especially,

• crushers,
• screening,
• conveyors and related equipment.
• Proficient in Solidworks and Inventor.

• Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical, structural and process equipment, using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) software. Autotdesk Inventor / Solidworks
• Must have experience in working within the mining equipment field especially crushers, screening, conveyors and related equipment.
• Coordinate with and consult other workers to design, lay out, or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems.
• Review and analyse specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess.
• Produce fabrication and shop drawings, as well as bill of materials and item lists.
• Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies and to improve on existing designs thorough optimization.
• Check dimensions of materials to be used and assign numbers to the materials.
• Lay out and draw schematic, orthographic, or angle views to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems, and machines.
• 3D model new mechanical, structural, civil, and piping models.
• Draw up general arrangement plant layouts for tender purposes
• Basic understanding of ISO 9001 (Quality). Correct archiving of drawings, revisions, naming, transmitting etc.
• Communicate directly with engineers and clients regarding designs and changes.
