SUMMARY:
A leading, multi-disciplined company, specialising in wear and tear spares as well as mechanical parts is looking for a Senior Draughtsman to join their team in Johannesburg.

POSITION INFO:
Skills:
Must have experience in working within the mining equipment field especially,

crushers,
screening,
conveyors and related equipment.
Proficient in Solidworks and Inventor.

Responsibilities:

Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical, structural and process equipment, using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) software. Autotdesk Inventor / Solidworks
Must have experience in working within the mining equipment field especially crushers, screening, conveyors and related equipment.
Coordinate with and consult other workers to design, lay out, or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems.
Review and analyse specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess.
Produce fabrication and shop drawings, as well as bill of materials and item lists.
Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies and to improve on existing designs thorough optimization.
Check dimensions of materials to be used and assign numbers to the materials.
Lay out and draw schematic, orthographic, or angle views to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems, and machines.
3D model new mechanical, structural, civil, and piping models.
Draw up general arrangement plant layouts for tender purposes
Basic understanding of ISO 9001 (Quality). Correct archiving of drawings, revisions, naming, transmitting etc.
Communicate directly with engineers and clients regarding designs and changes.
