SUMMARY:
A company in Pretoria is seeking a senior electrical design engineer.

POSITION INFO:
We are looking for an experienced and technically skilled Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead and contribute to complex electrical design projects across various sectors.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the electrical design process from concept through to detailed design and implementation
Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and documentation in accordance with relevant standards and regulations
Conduct load calculations, single-line diagrams, schematics, and system layouts
Oversee project deliverables, ensuring compliance with time, budget, and quality expectations
Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders including contractors and consultants
Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and drafters
Stay up-to-date with industry developments, standards, and emerging technologies

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (Master’s preferred)
7+ years of experience in electrical design within [industry – e.g., commercial buildings, industrial plants, renewable energy, etc.]
Proficient in electrical design tools and software such as AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, Dialux, or similar
In-depth knowledge of local and international electrical codes and standards (e.g., IEC, NEC, BS7671)
Strong project management and leadership skills
Professional registration (e.g., PrEng, PE, CEng, or equivalent) is highly desirable
