SUMMARY:
Masa is currently looking for a Senior Golden Laser Fibre Machine operator.  Must have good leadership skills and must be willing to work in Hammarsdale area(KZN)

Qualifications

• Matric certificate or N3 technical qualification (preferred).
• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings.
• Experience with CNC programming, nesting software (e.g., Lantek, SigmaNEST).
• Familiarity with cutting parameters for different metals and thicknesses.
• Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting knowledge.
• Understanding of safety and quality standards in a production environment.
• Good communication and leadership skills

• Min five years proven experience as a lead Laser Operator.
• Experience with operating AutoCAD.
• Always ensure punctuality.
• Follow Team Leaders/Supervisor’s clear, detailed instructions and demonstrate flexibility in executing the duties.
• Knowledge of plate/sheet material in both carbon steel and stainless steel.
• Perform housekeeping to ensure that the work areas and surrounding environment is always kept clean.
• Assist with the maintenance of the laser machine
• Must comply and conform to the Quality Management System.
• Must be willing to work overtime/flexible hours when necessary.
• Adhere to all quality and safety requirements of the ND Engineering management system.
• Due to our location, own transport would be advisable.
• Set up and operate the Golden Laser Fibre Cutting Machine (e.g., GF series) to cut metals like stainless steel, mild steel, and aluminium according to technical drawings and job cards.
• Interpret engineering drawings, CAD files, and CNC codes (G-code/Nesting software).
• Adjust machine settings, monitor cutting parameters, and make necessary corrections to ensure optimal cutting quality.
• Perform first-off inspections and in-process quality checks using measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers).
• Conduct routine machine maintenance and minor troubleshooting.
• Optimize material usage to reduce waste.
• Work with the design and programming teams to ensure accurate input files.
