A full-service advertising and marketing agency has an exciting opportunity for a Graphic/Digital Designer to join their team.
Graphic Designer Duties
Duties will include:
- Bringing the brief and concept to life based on the client’s needs and vision
- Keeping budget, time and production constraints in mind
- Preparing mockups and presenting to clients before deciding on a final design/concept
- Editing proofs to client’s specifications and getting sign-off/approval before finalising artwork
- Working and collaborating with art directors, copywriters, photographers and other designers
- Adapting and rolling out approved concepts to various media, above-and-below the line
- Adhering to a client’s brand identity and guidelines
- Communicating with internal and external stakeholders about progress of projects and any issues that may arise
- Working with external departments to extend concept and visuals to other internal and external marketing-related material
- Making sure artwork is correct and supplied in the right format/sizes/colour codes before being sent to press and production facilities
- Work on multiple briefs at the same time
Digital Designer Duties:
- Designing, producing and managing interactive online content, including email templates, social media and promotional artwork and informative ebooks
- Collaborating with marketing teams to ensure that all designs align with the brand image, while also meeting usability and website standards
- Ensuring consistency in designs and content across all company platforms
- Transforming wireframes into intuitive user interfaces
- Reviewing product positioning and online marketing content to identify room for improvement
- Working with the IT department to oversee the smooth implementation of new content
- Providing advice and guidance on the aesthetic for campaigns, projects, and promotional events
Graphic Designer Skills
- Be creative, adaptable to trends and conceptualise original ideas
- Have a strong, well-rounded portfolio that showcases your individual design aesthetic
- Good communication skills to accurately convey your concepts to clients and team members
- Be a skilled user of design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
- Mindful of client’s needs and the time and costs associated with what you will be delivering
- Have an active interest in art/design and passionate about the work you deliver
Digital Designer Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in digital design, graphic design, or a related field
- Proven experience in a professional digital design role
- A portfolio of previous digital design work to showcase experience and creativity
- Solid knowledge of design software programmes, such as Sketch, InVision and Adobe Creative Suite
- Ability to clearly present design ideas and concepts for campaigns and projects
- A team player with exceptional organisational and technical skills
Graphic Designer CV (and Portfolio) Must-Haves
On your CV, highlight your ability to:
- Conceptualise ideas and complete work within budget and on deadline
- Achieve or exceed relevant objectives based on briefs and input from clients
- Successfully managing the entire process from brief to final artwork
- Build trust with colleagues, clients and production companies such as printers
- Strong attention to detail
Graphic Designer Qualifications and Job Requirements
- A National Diploma/Degree in Graphic design or any related creative field
- Formal training/certification in the use of Adobe’s Creative suite of programmes or similar
- Other software tools such Dreamweaver, HTML, CorelDraw or AutoCAD
- Strong creative, organisational, problem-solving and time management skills
- Adaptable and quick learner. Must be able to apply style guides creatively while upholding brand identity
- Confident use of Microsoft office in a Mac environment
- Posses strong conceptual skills, good level of sense of design
- A strong sense of accountability
- Broad thinker who is able to offer a variety of design solutions
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Good knowledge in graphic production process
- Work well with tight deadlines in a team environment, but also able to work independently
- Able to take projects from start to finish with minimal supervision
- Good command of the English language
