The University of Fort Hare seeks to appoint suitable qualified and experienced candidates for vacant post in Communication Department-Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities:

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Minimum requirements:

Doctoral degree in Communication, Media Studies or Cultural Studies
5 years teaching experience in a higher education environment, OR, 5 years postdoctoral experience in a higher education environment including undergraduate teaching
A proven research record of scholarly publications
Evidence of postgraduate supervision
Experience in digital media, broadcasting or journalism will be an added advantage

Responsibilities Include:

Teach undergraduate and postgraduate Communication courses
Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects
Produce scholarly publications
Participate in collaborative research projects undertaken locally and internationally
Refine curricula at undergraduate and postgraduate level
Participate in community engagement initiatives identified by the department, faculty and University
Mentor junior members of staff and post-graduate students
Participate and contribute to department, faculty and University administrative responsibilities
