Senior Mechanical Engineer(Mining Sector)

We require an all-round seasoned professional Engineer with minimum 8 years strong technical experience in the design of slurry pumps, pipeline systems, mine backfill systems in the mining industry?
 
Your attitude leading from the front, originality, taking ownership, making the right judgement calls, being adaptable with strong problem solving skills will be needed to drive your team.
 
Working from their office in Johannesburg travel will be required locally and internationally collaborating between their offices in SA, UK and America.

POSITION INFO:
REQUIREMENTS

• Matric - Bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical, civil, or chemical engineering
• Management experience and ability to drive business growth
• Registered as a professional engineer or technologist with ECSA
• Strong technical experience with experience in design of pumps & pipelines, process and mechanical design
• Excellent communication to liaise with civil, electrical and C&I sub-consultants
• At least 8 years’ previous engineering work experience
• No criminal record (due to client, travel and site requirements)
• A valid passport, driver's licence, government-issued COVID-19 vaccine certificate
• Able and willing to travel locally and internationally, when required

• Manage projects simultaneously, manage a project team
• Attend on-site meetings, provide technical supervision to other engineers
• Extensive client liaison and technical communication while maintaining and developing their client base and actively marketing for new projects
• Specification and report writing, and presentations
• Preparation of proposals, planning, financial budgeting and controls
• Perform engineering tasks and apply technical knowledge with problem solving for all projects
• Design of mining related systems, often in a supervisory capacity, including the following:

• Continuously develop knowledge, understanding and skills associated with relevant engineering project systems and the mining and resources industries
• Submit technical papers, present papers at conferences and present P&C training courses
• Continuous learning and professional development will be required to remain up-to date with current practices and technology
