Sales & Marketing Manager (Southern Africa)

A leading Consumer Goods firm has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly capable sales and marketing specialist to lead their Sales, Marketing and Communications teams. Working as part of an international team, you will be responsible for creating a sales and marketing growth strategy to ensure long term market growth in the country and region (including focus on sponsorships; distributor/consumer communications and momentum; brand awareness & product marketing).

Beyond this you will also manage and promote new product launches and working via methodologies that have been proved successfully in other countries around the world. Your role will entail travel both locally and within the African continent.

You will meet the following minimum requirements

• Matric – with mathematics and English
• Bachelors or Masters Degree in Marketing, Sales or Business Management
• At least 8 – 10 years’ experience in a sales/marketing role(s) within the FMCG, Direct Marketing or Pharmaceutical sectors
• At least 5 years’ experience at management and/or senior management level – with a track record of developing and implementing marketing/sales plans
• Social media marketing and promotions experience is very highly preferable
• Able to demonstrate an ability to develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Comprehensive prior knowledge and experience in organizing, budgeting for large scale corporate events, exhibitions, conferences & seminars.
• Managing budgets, market analysis, analyzing sales figures.
• Project management experience is highly desirable
• Experience / exposure to countries outside of South Africa is highly advantageous

• Proven people leadership experience
• Experience building / developing loyalty programmes
• A clear, articulate communicator who can create impactful communications for internal and external audiences
