WatersEdge Solutions is partnering with a market innovator in data commercialisation to recruit a Senior Strategic Sales Consultant. This senior role is ideal for a highly experienced consultant with a strong background in enterprise sales, executive relationship management, and use-case strategy development. You’ll lead significant data trade deals and be instrumental in driving growth, monetisation, and compliance across global sectors.
About the Role
As a Senior Strategic Sales Consultant, you will lead data monetisation initiatives, manage executive-level engagements, and drive adoption of strategic data use cases. You'll act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, work cross-functionally with legal, tech, product, and business teams, and contribute thought leadership in the data space. You’ll also play a visible role in brand representation through conferences and published insights.
Key Responsibilities
Monetisation Strategy & Executive Relationships
- Partner with senior leadership to deliver high-value data trade deals across major sectors
- Lead executive-level relationship management across data sellers and buyers
- Drive and execute monetisation strategies to grow data trade revenue
Use Case Strategy Development
- Develop replicable, scalable use case strategies for local and global deployment
- Evaluate, test, and implement successful value propositions across verticals
- Align internal teams around client strategies through roadmaps and reviews
- Inform product development and platform enhancements through feedback and strategy
Revenue Growth & Retention
- Own strategic renewals and revenue planning with a value-driven approach
- Support upsell and cross-sell through insight-led client growth planning
- Build financial models, deliver commercial proposals, and manage client negotiations
Thought Leadership & Brand Representation
- Represent the business at industry events and conferences
- Maintain a visible thought leadership presence via LinkedIn and white papers
- Evangelise alternative data strategy and data cleanroom innovation
Corporate Processes & Negotiation
- Navigate enterprise buying centres and manage end-to-end deal processes
- Negotiate pricing, SLAs, and contracts with executive and procurement teams
- Educate stakeholders on privacy-enhancing technology and compliance frameworks
Risk Management & Compliance
- Proactively identify enterprise and compliance risks
- Support client adherence to POPIA, ISO 27001, and data privacy best practices
Pipeline & Performance Management
- Deliver accurate forecasts and performance outcomes aligned to KPAs/KPIs
What You’ll Bring
- Honours degree and 8–12 years of experience in B2B enterprise sales or client success
- Prior experience in consultancy or executive-level data/analytics leadership (3–5 years)
- Strong background in SaaS, data solutions, or related consultancy
- Proven ability to sell complex solutions to senior and multi-stakeholder audiences
