Senior Tax Accountant (Wealth)

R720k plus bonus

Cape Town

Excellent career opportunity with international wealth business of leading financial services group. Reporting to the Tax Manager you will be responsible for:

Responsible for review of client ad-hoc Income Tax on selected surrenders or switches.
Keeps abreast of all tax legislation and practices. Provides guidance to business around the interpretation of the VAT, Income Tax and relevant Case Law.
Responsible for review of CGT reports submitted to group for the tax returns
Responsible for reviewing VAT chargeable on fees/commission.
Champions the automation of tax processes and provides guidance to the business to ensure compliance with legislation.
Reporting and Tax Management:
Advises on tax aspects of transactions and projects undertaken by the organization.
Assists in development and implementation of tax systems planning opportunities for the organisation and ensures that all requirements e.g. data flows/reporting are met.
Assists with developing tax planning opportunities.
Assists with the analyses of all new transactions and new products from a tax point of view. Interprets or assists with the interpretation of VAT Act, Income Tax and Relevant Case Law & Provides guidance to Tax Accountants around the interpretation of the VAT, Income Tax and relevant Case Law.
Responsible for preparing or ensuring the preparation of monthly reports on all tax aspects.
Responsible for monitoring the submission of monthly and Bi Annual Income Tax return.

Qualifications and experience

B. Com /3 yr. accounting diploma/Tax diploma/tax honours/H Dip
Minimum 3-5 tax accounting experience within financial services
International tax experience is adv or
Recently qualified CA with 1 years’ experience.
