JOB SUMMARY:
Our client has a position for a service manager to join their friendly team in Pinetown.
A key aspect of this role is to manage the team in such a way as to ensure that customer service needs are met in a timely manner.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Minimum Requirements:

Strong customer-facing skills.
Technical knowledge/experience/qualifications are essential.
Excellent communicator with proven management and leadership experience.
Computer literacy with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel. CRM, SAP and/or accounting software experience will be an added advantage.
A minimum of 5 years working experience in a similar position.
Must have a proven track record / capability of managing a sizeable team of approximately 10
Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Job Functions; ( Not Limited):

Manage technicians’ activities i.e., service calls, daily, by taking in job sheets and receiving
Feedback on complete and incomplete work and taking appropriate action.
Manage and schedule technical teams’ jobs daily. (7 technicians and 1 assistant)
Work closely with the service administrative staff and provide information to allow the booking of service calls and effective customer service interaction.
Manage customer complaints and product issues and provide technical reports to customers.
Manage the customer expectation to service delivery.
Arrange spares for technicians in close cooperation with the Spares department.
Ensure technicians maintain an optimal van stock holding and oversee stock counts.
Prepare and submit repair requests based on technician feedback.
Negotiate and conclude service contracts with customers.
Measure and monitor productivity of staff under their supervision.
Ensure that sales margins are maintained when quoting and invoicing.
Attend site meetings for tendering purposes.
Plan and schedule installations of new equipment together with the sales department.
Plan and schedule service work.
Oversee and manage workshop repairs.
Work with the Fleet manager to maintain and care for the service vehicle fleet
Introduce systems and procedures to improve service delivery.
Train staff in areas of customer service and company policies and evaluate efficiency.
Assist with the implementation of service policies and explaining these to staff and customers.
Maintain documentation pertaining to customer service department activities.
Perform additional duties where needed and must be prepared to go the extra mile to offer exemplary customer service.
Ensure service team follows best practices and maintains service levels
Monitor department issues and customer complaints
