JOB SUMMARY:
Our client based in Clayville Gauteng is looking for sewing machine operators with experience in the textile industry.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Candidates will to perform the following tasks:

Sewing tasks in the form of making, trimming and finishing of fur, sheepskin, leather, upholstery, mats, carpets, umbrellas and other textile products;
Embroider on textiles with machine stitching;
Cleans and oils machine and reports or remedies any mechanical faults.
Sewing machine operators operate sewing machines to sew fabric, fur, leather or synthetic materials to produce or repair garments and other articles.
Must have experience in clothing textile products, fur products, cotton, wool, leather or industrial textiles. draw threads through and change machine settings for different job, feed material through the machine, following instructions for each sewing job.
Use a range of machine programs and machines, such as overlockers, hemmers and bar tackers, to carry out a range of tasks and produce different finishes.
Guiding the material through the machine, correcting any mistakes as you go and checking that the finished article matches the pattern instructions.
Altering machine settings to suit the type of material and finish required.
