Social Media Portfolio Director

This person will be tasked with leading the company’s social media team (3 people), supporting growth in the company’s social media portfolio, and helping guide the company’s approach to social media strategy.

Salary: R45-R65K

Work from home but Gauteng based non negotiable 

Non- negotiable criteria for consideration:

• BEE Candidate (African, Coloured or Indian born and bred in South Africa)
• Based in Gauteng 
• Minimum three-year university degree (NQF7) in marketing, communications, Journalism or related field
• Min 3 years People management experience- previous team management experience is essential
• Min 12 - 15 years WORK experience  
• Min four to six years experience working as a Social Media Specialist/Manager on social media content creation and strategy development (agency experience would be a significant advantage)

Other requirements

• High-level understanding of communications strategy and how to apply strategy to creative content
• An understanding of how to develop and execute social media campaigns
• Strong working knowledge of the mechanics of different social media platforms and how to use these platforms to achieve communications goals
• Good people skills and the confidence and experience to manage a diverse team of social media content creators and community managers
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills with close attention to detail
• Strong leadership skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Agility and creativity under pressure
• The ability to work well with others and be an effective team player
• Good people, communication and presentation skills
• Must be assertive and independent with the ability to manage large, complex projects
• Must be solutions-driven
• Must have excellent internet connectivity at all times
