Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Specialist Business Development Consultant for our client based in Sandton. Will be required to expand the organisationâ??s footprint across niche industries, focussed on sales and marketing of medical scheme and financial services products.

The role entails development of new business opportunities, building strong relationships with prospective corporate clients and managing relationships within the union space, in promotion of increasing sales and ensuring member retention.

Work experience required:
- Minimum 5 yearsâ?? sales customer service experience in a Healthcare or financial services sector
- Minimum 5 yearsâ?? experience in the medical scheme industry

Minimum educational level: Â Â Â
- RE 5 (Essential Minimum)
- Business related tertiary qualification (Clinical qualifications will be beneficial)
Responsibilities will include the following:
- Maintain and develop relationships with existing and potential corporate employers while actively promoting organic growth and cross-selling initiatives
- Ability to build lasting relationships with union representatives and brokers within dedicated industries
- Weekly meetings at employer groups, including mines, companies and union meetings
- Identify new employer groups for the purpose of selling medical scheme and employee benefit products, including Gap CoPay cover, medical savings products, employee wellbeing programmes and related products
- Understanding risks at groups (other broker involvement, unions, pending retrenchments, etc.)
- Weekly reporting to Sales Executive
- Continuous client engagements through presentations and training sessions held on-site at corporate clients
- Presentations to unions, brokers and corporate groups
- Consistent evaluation of sales and retention techniques, i.e. member information, member contact, broker contact and channels by which retention is enhanced
- Actively endeavour to avoid any member loss and pro-actively identify risks re member loss and devise and implement plans to mitigate such risks
- Positioning of the products within niche industries for successful new business implementation
